Day 2 Update

Another long and hot day for the boys…just got to be around midnight.  Had our first game in the heat of the day today versus Brazil.  Unfortunate 2-0 defeat, but the boys really held their own against the Brazilian side that had 4 man-child players in the defense.  Velocity played with a lot of US pride and never gave up and came away saying hey we competed against a world soccer power nation.

 

The day was spent sleeping in for some…others were awake at 5:00 am…couldn’t sleep.  Played the match….came back and some swam in the warm Adriatic Sea.  We attended the looooong opening ceremonies and arrived back at the hotel 11:45 pm.  The boys are dead tired from the high heat/humidity, but again didn’t complain tonight.

 

We play the Romanian team tomorrow at 9:45 am (12:45 am Seattle).  The Romanians beat Jordan 3-1 earlier today and tied Italy 2-2 this afternoon.  It will be a tough one for us, but we hope to build up what we started today.

 

Well…it is time for bed…up at 7:00 am for breakfast, the match, some down time at the beach and a visit to Rimini for shopping and dinner.
